In November of last year, Texas A&M University recognized 100 Aggie-led or Aggie-owned businesses with the highest annual growth in the Hall of Champions at Kyle Field, the university’s football stadium. One of the companies honored at the 12th Annual Aggie 100 was Texas Swim Academy.

Aggie alum and owner of Texas Swim Academy, Bruce McMordie, received his Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering in 1978. His two sons, William and Robert, were present to accept the award.

Texas Swim Academy Comes in 74th Place

Started in 2005, the Aggie 100 program is designed to find, recognize and celebrate the 100 fastest growing businesses either owned or led by an Aggie alum. It also strives to serve as a forum where the lessons learned by the university’s most successful alumni can be passed on to the next generation.

In order to be considered for the award, a business must:

  • Be a minimum of 5 years old
  • Have a revenue of $250,000 or more
  • Follow the Aggie Code of Honor

Recipients must also have owned at least 50 percent of the company, served as the company’s chief executive, or the company must have been founded by a former student who is also an active member of its senior management team.

Texas Swim Academy ranked 74th among 100 of their peers, having a revenue growth of nearly 36 percent between 2013 and 2015.

Proud to Be a Part of the Tradition of Champions

Apart from receiving an award at the gala, we were thrilled to have been in the presence of so many other successful Aggie businesses. We reunited with old friends and made new connections that evening with businesses in a number of different industries.

Congratulations again to those honored at the 12th Annual Aggie 100! We invite you to view the full list of winners here.
