Katy Swim Lessons and Infant Survival Skills

Recent stories of loving and responsible parents dealing with the tragedy of drowning have been absolutely heartbreaking. Most people don’t realize how quickly a drowning can occur. A few seconds is all it takes and it can happen to even the most watchful and vigilant of parents.

You might hear or read that Labor Day means the end of “drowning season” when most drownings occur. While this is true due to the number of people in and around pools during the summer, the real truth is that drowning knows no season.

This is especially true in our area where most pool owners don’t cover their pools and many use them well into winter. Hot tubs and inground spas stay in use year-round and can be just as dangerous as swimming pools.

Following common sense safety rules and taking all necessary precautions is absolutely vital to keeping children safe around water. But nothing can replace giving them the ability to help themselves. It’s never too early for children to learn infant survival skills and it’s never too late to learn how to swim.

Continued Practice Reduces the Likelihood of Drowning

At Texas Swim Academy, we believe in the power of year-round swimming lessons and that ongoing development and maintenance of skills is the best way to keep children safe. When it matters, in those crucial seconds before disaster happens, children must be ready and have the awareness and ability to save themselves.

Our heated indoor pools provide a comfortable and safe environment for children to continue developing their swimming and survival skills year-round. Our instructors provide one-on-one lessons that are faster and more effective than traditional children’s swim lessons. We want children “safer sooner” and we want them to stay that way.

Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death among young children. But together, we can make a difference. Fill out the form on this page or call Texas Swim Academy at
