Looking for things to do this summer around Katy? Each month this summer we’ll post fun activities and events for the entire family. And to get it all started, we’re giving you a load of fun things to add to your calendar for June. You can keep your kids busy all month long with these local summer events. 2013 can be your family’s best summer yet!

June 18, 2:30 – 3:15 Kids Summer – Mick Corley, Mysteries under the Earth

Tickets required: Music, magic, puppets, and stories to excite children about reading. (Ages 5 & up) Tickets required and may be picked up the Monday before each Tuesday event.

June 24 2:30 – 4:00 Teen Summer – Venture to India

Design your own henna tattoo as you learn the history of this Indian tradition.

June 25 2:30 – 3:15 Kids Summer – Sleeping Beauty Puppet Show

Tickets required: Jean Kuecher presents “Sleeping Beauty and the Handsome Prince”, a marionette puppet show. (Ages 5 & up) Tickets required and may be picked up the Monday before each Tuesday event.

Baby BounceYear Round story time for infants aged 3-18 months. At the Harris County Library Katy Branch every Monday at 10:15 am.

Genealogy Lunchbox An “informal genealogy get-together takes place every Monday from 12-2. Open to adults interested in researching their genealogy. Many different resources are available including genealogists!

Knotty and Nice Club – A monthly craft group for anyone wanting to learn or teach needlework crafts like knitting, crocheting, and cross stitch. Bring your latest project and work on it while getting to know other crafters! Every Wednesday at 1:00. Harris County Library Katy Branch

PreSchool Story Time – Stories, songs, finger plays and occasional crafts for children aged 3-6. Every Thursday at 10:30 am. Harris County Library Katy Branch.

Spanish Computer Class Every Friday from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. Learn basic computer, office and social networking skills. Harris County Library Katy Branch.


Texas Swim Academy  is an infant, child and adult swim lesson facility. The academy strives to introduce children to water at an early age through  SURVIVAL SWIM, and to fully develop their swim stroke abilities through adulthood through  STROKE DEVELOPMENT.  Children are taught life saving swim safety skills and have the option to prepare for competitive swim team. Texas Swim Academy also offers  PARENT-CHILD CLASSES  to grow the bond between parent and child and to provide a seamless, comfortable introduction to water for children.
